Joy

Is joy in your life? Have you brought joy to other people? I have joy in my life and I have brought joy to other people. The most important thing is to always take the joy with you. One of the things that has brought joy into my life is my Dad. My Dad has always been there for me since day one. When I was a little girl and got sick my Dad would set up with me all night. He is the one who brought horses, rodeo, and new people into my life that brings joy to me. He also sends me joy by sending me to Flint River Academy. My Grandmother has brought a lot of joy to me. She takes me shopping and buys me things. On my 10th birthday she took me to Hawaii. She is one of my best supporters, no matter what I want to do. My Grandpaw brings joy to me by always being there for me. He can make me laugh, even when I am sad. My horses bring joy to me too. My horse Chilly is always there for me and ready to run with me. Chilly is the one who gives me a good run and sets me free. I bring joy to Chilly every time we go to run because that is what she loves to do. My horse, Whisper, who is a very young horse that has just been broke to ride, brings joy to me by seeing how much she enjoys going on trail rides. I bring joy to my Dad by being a daughter he can be proud of every day. I always try to be a person who never hurts other people's feeling. I always try hard in school. He knows that I am a Daddy's girl and will always be there for him. I bring joy in my Grandparents life every day. My Grandmother tells me how much I mean to her and how she enjoys going shopping, to the rodeo or taking me somewhere special on vacation. I bring joy to my Grandpaw, especially when I do good at the rodeo. In fact we had a bet on me winning the champion barrel saddle and he has to pay up. He has to buy me a new ostrich seat saddle. Joy is something that every one needs to practice in their life and how they can share joy with other people. Having joy in your life and giving joy to others is a wonderful feeling.

The three most important things in my life

The three most important things in my life are my family, friends, and school. Without them I would be lost! They are very important to me. They are like diamonds to me. My family is always there for me. My Dad is a great parent and he is on the double. My Dad is the best dad in the world and that is no lie. My Dad is perfect and I could not image my life without him. He is one in a million. I would do anything for him, he is the north star in my life. My Mom does not care about anything in my life. She does not support me in anything. My Mom holds on to everything, and does not ever let it go. My Mom and I don't get along. I don't like the way she treats my Dad. He didn't do anything to her. My Dad is my best friend, I tell him everything. We argue sometimes but we always get over it, and don't hold on to it. My Dad always spends time with Lane and me. I don't have a good Mom but I don't worry about it anymore, because now we have three new people that I consider family. I love them with all my heart. They are Miss Jenine, Josie, and Harleigh. We do everything together. Our favorite thing to do is go to Wrangler rodeos. I always have them to support me. Not only do I have my Dad and Lane, I have my Nana, PawPaw, Josie, Harleigh, and Miss Jenine. The best part is everyone is together. When we are not at rodeos, we are together every weekend possible. I have so much fun when we are all together. My family always knows I'm happy by the smile on my face. And if I'm mad or sad they can make me happy. My family is giving me a great life. I could not want anything better. They are helping me achieve my dreams. My Dad, Lane, Nana, and Pawpaw took me to the Frontier Rodeo and parade in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I rode in the parade and the grand entry of the rodeo. They helped me achieve that dream and many others. They are very supportive of what I do and everything I do now. And the way I thank them by giving them a hug and say thank you. My friends are always there for me. If I need to talk they are ready to talk. And the best part is they want tell any body no matter what it is. I have friends from everywhere. My best friends are from the rodeos. We have so much in common. My friends are really important to me right now. All my friends are like family to me. I don't get to see all of them each week but we stay in touch. My friend in Alabama does not get to come up as much as she use to but I hope to see her this summer. School is very important to me. I know if I don't stay in school and give it one hundred and ten percent, then I will not meet my goals in life. I have very high goals for myself. I hope that when I finish school, I will be able to go to a good college. School has made me be a caring person. I have to try real hard to make good grades. My teachers care about us and want us to do well.

Christmas

Christmas is the best time of the year. You get to be with the family and friends. And you get to give things to people you love. I love to see their face when they open the present. It is like they are just shocked. Another thing that is great about Christmas is no school for two weeks, which means no homework.

But the best thing about Christmas is its Jesus birthday. Jesus was born on this day to be our Savior. Gifts were brought to him because people loved him. We also give gifts to our family and friends because we love them.

Christmas is the time of year when we get to decorate our house and yard with beautiful lights. My dad, brother and I always enjoy going to pick out our Christmas tree. Of course we always try to get the biggest one at the tree farm. Our tree this year is ten feet tall and really fat. It is beautiful. The tree takes about 1,000 lights. It took all of us to get it in the house.

We always decorate our yard with lights and blow-ups of a manger scene, snowmen, snow globes, Santa, reindeer and polar bear. When we finish decorating the yard we take time to look at it. The yard is always so pretty.

Another thing about Christmas that I enjoy is going to the church Christmas play. Our church puts on a play every year. This year they put on The Gospel According to Scrooge. The church is packed for five nights and a Saturday afternoon play. This play is great.

As Christmas is getting closer I hope everyone will remember the true meaning of Christmas, not just about the gifts. I would like to say Merry Christmas to everyone who reads my blog.

Skidaway Trip

I can't believe that this school year is almost over and summer vacation will be here. Next week will be very busy since we have finals Monday and Tuesday and then Wednesday we leave for our trip to Skidaway. I am very excited about our trip. This weekend I am going to try to get most everything packed so I will have that completed. I have all the stuff I need to take, but it still takes time to decide how to pack everything. I was upset last week when three of my friends, who I thought I would room with, asked someone else. But everything always works out, because two other friends asked me to room with them. I know Mrs. Riggins is going to make the final decision as to who we will room with, but I know it will all work out. What we want to happen is not always the best. Sometimes friends hurt our feelings but we have other friends to cheer us up. I know God always looks after us and I always bounce back. I know the trip will be educational and fun. I am looking forward to the ghost tour. I pray that we will have a safe trip and everyone will have fun.

Officer Colquitt

This blog is in honor of Officer Joey Colquitt, who died over the weekend. He died Friday night after having a massive heart attack. He was the D.A.R.E. Officer for Meriwether County. Officer Colquitt was very nice. He was always joking around and making us laugh. For example, he said Blake would be driving a tractor to the prom. He would have done anything for us. He would have helped us with any problem that we had. He was a easy person to talk to. Officer Colquitt could be serious also. He never joked around when he was talking about drugs and violence. His job was very serious to him. He really enjoyed teaching kids and telling them about the danger of drugs. I always enjoyed the programs he presented. He used some videos and stuffed animals in his teaching. He also gave each one of us a t-shirt. Officer Colquitt will be really missed in the community and at school. My prayers go out to his family and friends. I LOVE YOU OFFICER COLQUITT!! I would like to say to everyone, remember what Officer Colquitt taught us. SAY NO TO DRUGS!!

Killing Mr. Griffin

Tuesday we finished reading Killing Mr. Griffin. The book was good but had a weird ending. I didn't like the part when they tied Mr. Griffin up and he had a heart attack and died. Mr. Griffin really loved teaching and wanted the kids to get a good education. My teachers are similar to Mr. Griffin when it comes to helping us. They are willing to help if we have questions. I know I work as hard as I can and sometimes I still need help. When I go to my teachers for help they are very understanding. Mr. Griffin would stay after school to help his students. Mrs. Porter has stayed after school to help me and last year Mrs. Chapman did a study group after school to help her students. I feel like any of my teachers would be willing to stay to help us. I thought it was sad that Mr. Griffin died. I don't feel the students really meant for their prank to end that way. Sometimes we don't think before pulling a prank on someone. I think we should give more thought to our actions before we actually do them. A lot of times people are really hurt by some of the things we say or do. Maybe we are only playing around but sometimes it hurts really bad. I have never pulled a prank on anyone. I try to be friends with everyone.
